Here are some frequently asked questions and the answers.

What do I have to register for?
Many events are free and do not actually require registration. HOWEVER, Some specific events, such as our featured events (Friday Night Entertainment, Tailgate, and Brunch) require tickets which are bought during registration. We’ll keep you updated about events, check out our tentative schedule, and check back often!
Where can I park?
Great question, Iowa State can be quite confusing when it comes to parking, our best answer is to park on the streets, paying close attention to signs, or check out the map Here. Anywhere in yellow is good weekend parking. (Most reserved lots open to public after 5:30 or 7 pm on weekdays and are free on weekends again, make sure to check signs!)
Where should I stay?
Hotels should be booked very soon as they fill up very quickly, check out our hotels page Here and get yours today.
What if I cannot be there Friday night?
That is OK! We understand you are busy and getting here on Saturday is just fine, we promise you won’t miss too much 
Many families worry about missing check-in which is completely unnecessary, our help desk will be open early to late at a central location ALL WEEKEND!
Where can I pick up my order and weekend information?
Friday you can pick up everything you need including your ticket and t-shirt orders from the check-in headquarters in the Memorial Union (Specific Room to be Scheduled).
After five and throughout the rest of the weekend you may find anything you need at the help desk also located in the Memorial Union just outside of the University Bookstore.
I didn’t order a(n) _____ can I purchase on site?
Tickets for Cyclone Family Weekend events must be purchased ahead of time.
A limited number of Friday night entertainment tickets MIGHT be available the day of show, but to ensure you have a seat be sure to order ahead of time. Due to the need for a firm number for catering purposes we cannot sell tickets to the Tailgate after registration closes.
I cannot make it to every event! Why do events overlap?
We want to give every family as many options as possible, and that is just not possible in the amount of time we have. It is our hope that an event that does not interest you will allow time to attend another event more suited to your tastes. We want you to personalize your weekend for your family by picking and choosing all that your family would most enjoy.

Where can I get football game tickets?

Tickets go quick so get them while they are hot!
We would like to remind everyone that as much as we would love the power, we cannot control the time of the football game and that we often do not know the actual time till a few weeks beforehand.
We do our very best to make a full and easily attend-able weekend, but sometimes fate, or the football media outlets, work against us. Be sure to remember that many of the events hinge on the game time (certain entertainment and the Tailgate), but some may not (such as College Receptions).
Can I sit with my student at the ball game?
You may sit with your student if you have purchased them a ticket, it is important to remember, if your student has purchased student tickets their seating is in a section reserved for students only.
Why doesn’t my student’s meal plan cover brunch?
Our brunch is a private event reserved specially for families.
Since we are specially reserving a venue, ordering a special menu, and hiring entertainment we are trying to keep this event as special as we can, reserved for family enjoyment.
